I'll be attending the announcement of the winners, and will hopefully find time to cover them in more detail here when that happens. I haven't yet had a chance to look for details of the several shortlisted bridges which are unfamiliar to me, so I won't hazard any guesses as to which bridges will do well in the awards.
Thanks for the mention of the awards. You were right in your assumption that some bridges you would have assumed to be natural finalists were missing because of a lack of nominations - rather disappointing from our point of view. Luckily there were plenty of other very strong entries.
ReplyDeleteI think it's nice not to just see the better known structures on a list, but to be introduced to bridges which have perhaps not had the publicity they deserve.
